I am Duality

Poem by Kimberley Murray.

When I started this journey I gradually stripped away all Ego or human form things that I felt held me hostage from my true essence, my consciousness. At first it was necessary, the Ego death to align the spirit, the shedding of conditioning. I found it helpful to split myself between Ego and Soul. A sort of experiment to witness my own patterns and my shifts but slowly I found that I was not fully living my truth as I displayed only my “spiritual” energy here and my human socialising there and eventually just stopped socialising altogether in a quest to go further into spirit. I buried myself deep in the void for two years avoiding all humans and all human parts of myself and yes, it opened my conversations with spirit and unlocked many incredible visions and realisations but I also became a grief I cannot express. This summer an unexpected embrace of the masculine and a return to socialising, albeit more consciously, including activities I would have previously deemed “not spiritual enough” has reminded me that to be authentic and whole we must be both spirit and human, both Ego and Soul, all parts of ourselves without judgement. The Ego is not our enemy but a bossy friend that we must maintain healthy boundaries with. We came to this realm to feel, to taste, to move, to express, to be utterly human and without all of it we are not discovering what we came to learn. There is no divide between everything that you are. Being in one energy does not make you less of another. Rather, accepting the dance through these energies like water we can be in flow state without attachment to story. ❤️

This poem was inspired by this thought process.
